2012 Membership Information

Dues for the period of January 1 thru December 31, 2012 are now being accepted.

Please join us as the APCA kicks off  the beginning of our 2012 fundraising campaign as well as the APCA’s achievements of the past year which include some of the following successes:

  • Successfully lobbying of Baystate Medical Center to secure a TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR DONATION as a form of mitigation for inconvenience caused by new hospital construction.
  • Developing new landscaping plans for both sets of pillars, with bushes and flowers to be planted in late September.
  • Working with our City Council Representative to successfully lobby the Mayor for an extension to the originally limited plan for the repaving of Springfield Street.
  • Partnering with the Springfield Preservation Trust to host a very successful neighborhood tour.
  • Planting and maintaining flower beds and containers at Glenwood Circle, as well as the Silver and Caseland/Cunningham Street green spaces.  (Additionally, the APCA is now responsible for mowing these last two areas, since the city no longer provides this service).
  • Hosting last winter’s Holiday Party & Tree Lighting, Spring Clean Up,  Neighborhood Tag Sale,  Two Food Collection Drives,  Summer Jazz Concert and August Film Festival.
  • Arbitration of occasional conflicts involving parking issues, noise ordinances and other “quality of life” concerns.

Your dues and attendance at meetings will help us do even more in 2012. Please join us in developing new goals and strategies to make our neighborhood a better place in which to live.
